About the book- 

Single mom Jessica Davis is a data and statistics wizard, but no amount of number crunching can convince her to step back into the dating world. My thoughts-

One of my favorite current author's is Christina Lauren (who are really a duo of best friends tag teaming their authoring duties, which makes them even more compelling to me). I think I have read pretty much all of Christina Lauren's books at this point and was super excited for The Soulmate Equation! I thought the book started out kind of slow but once it got going I couldn't put it down. I love the concept of the book, DNA telling you who your soulmate is, and I love the dynamic between Jess and River from the very beginning. I also like the strong bonds Jess has with her family and her daughter. This book was equal parts funny and sweet, with a health dose of drama to keep it interesting. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance novels. 

The Honey-Don't List by Christina Lauren

My thoughts-

It's been a while since I have read a romantic comedy that I couldn't put down, but that is exactly what happened once I started (and quickly finished) The Honey Don't List. I am not even a huge HGTV person. I don't care about house renovations shows, although I have been to Magnolia because I live in Dallas and Waco just isn't so far away and it's a beautiful store. I still thought this story sounded interesting and I was right. I was more engaged in the love story between the main characters- the assistants to the big tv star couple- and them trying to get through the sham that they are caught between. I know a lot of people don't like the style of writing that includes flash backs and other types of enhancements, but I have always thought that presenting more than one time frame and other types of media that are expository in nature with excerpts from the news articles and social media outlets really help move the story along and these types of extra information always make the novel feel more whole to me. I absolutely love this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

My thoughts-

Nothing pulls on my heartstrings more than a lost love from the past coming back into the picture in the future. I love stories like these. Tate left Sam in a bad way when they were younger so I knew it was going to be intense when they met back up as adults in a situation where they have to work together! There was lots of juicy content in this book. Seeing the full story unravel helped redeem Tate's decision. Yes, some of it was predictable as most contemporary romances are, but I thought it was a fresh story with a great feel to it. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading romantic stories.

My thoughts-

The Unhoneymooners was such a cute romantic comedy. I am a sucker for a story that has two enemies fall in love. I will chalk it up to my peace loving tendencies. Anyway, I enjoyed the way the story unfolded and thought the author did a great job moving the story along with humor and heart. It is interesting to learn the backstory to how Ethan and Olive have become enemies and to see it slowly unfold to them that maybe it wasn't exactly as it seemed. I thought it was the perfect summer read and would recommend packing it in your bag for a nice day reading out at the beach or lake.
