Roma Downey's Little Angels Prayers for Every Day Review & Giveaway!

About the Book:
Little Angels Prayers for Every Day features more than 50 simple rhyming prayers that cover a typical day and the typical worries of a young child. From waking in the morning to going to sleep at night, from thanking God for a meal to praying for His comfort when afraid, the prayers here will help little ones to see that any moment is a good moment to talk to God. Relevant Bible verses are scattered throughout the book as well!

My Thoughts:
Roma Downey sure is one busy lady these days! I just posted a few days ago about a mini series she is producing with Mark Burnett on The History Channel called The Bible and today I am going to telling you a little about her new children's prayer book Little Angels Prayers For Every Day! This sweet little book has prayers for children regarding all of the different things they can pray about. It starts off with prayers for the morning and ends with prayers for bedtime and is filled with prayers for so many other occasions and feelings such as praying before meals, prayers of thanks, prayers of praise, prayers for help, prayers for others, prayers forgiveness, ect. There are several prayers for each category and they are short and they rhyme making them easy for our kiddos (and for us as we are teaching them!) to commit them to memory. Each page is colorful and has cute animated twin brother and sister Zoe and Alex in situations where they would want or need to pray. I thought this was a very cute book and a great way to introduce the importance of a constant prayer life to our little ones. This would make an awesome baby shower gift! It would also make a great addition to an Easter basket for a toddler or even a preschooler. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a way to teach their kids about prayer! Purex Baby Detergent Review + Giveaway

Everyone in our household has sensitive skin. Mine is the absolute worst. I am always so sad that I can't use nice smelling laundry detergent because it all makes me break out. I have never thought of trying a hypoallergenic detergent meant for babies, until I was offered this Purex Baby opportunity through being a Purex Insider. We normally use free and clear, but I was definitely willing to give it a try.

Right away, I noticed the nice smell. It is great to have a nice smell on our clothes again. We have been using this detergent for a little over a week and I have not broken out. That is no surprise to me though, since Purex Baby is Dermatologist tested and formulated to be extra gentle on even the most sensitive of skin. We don't have any little babies in our house anymore, but I will probably continue to use this liquid detergent since it works well, smells great and doesn't irritate any of our skin. I think this would make a fabulous edition to a baby shower gift and that new moms will fall in love with this great detergent. I would also highly recommend it to anyone who has sensitive skin, who still wants a detergent that has a nice scent to it.

Purex has a fun promotion going on. It's called "Oh, Baby" and 3 lucky grand prize winners will receive $500  each! 250 additional people will also win free bottles of Purex Baby! Enter the "Oh, Baby Sweepstakes here for your chance to win one of these great prizes!!

As you can see above, I also have 3 free coupons for a bottle of Purex Baby Detergent to give away! Enter below via the Rafflecopter for your chance to win!

Squatchi at Home Shoe Sizer & Growth Chart Review + Giveaway!

Anyone that has a toddler or preschoolers knows all too well how frustrating shoe shopping can be. Those little feet grow so fast and I have 3 little pairs of them to keep up with! Shoe shopping can be an ordeal with 3 preschoolers, so it is nice that there is now a tool I can use at home to measure their feet BEFORE heading to the store. This mama likes anything that saves time, especially something that will cut down on my time in a retail store with my 3 little ones! That's where Squatchi comes in! Squatchi is an at home shoe sizer for children. It was invented by a mom, who like most of us moms, was always short on time and was looking for a time saver where shopping where her children were involved. Squatchi is not only simple to use and comes in several kid friendly colors, it can also be used as a keepsake. Simply mark what size your kid's foot is with a sharpie each time you measure their feet, you could even add the date and you will have a record of how quickly their little feet became big feet!

I found Squatchi simple to use and very quick. All 3 of my kids (ages 5 and 3) cooperated when I asked them to put their foot on it and it took seconds to figure out what all of their shoe sizes were (12, 9 and 9, respectively). This is something I wish I would have had when they were much younger. I think Squatchi would make an excellent baby shower gift or even a first birthday gift since it can be used as a keepsake. I will definitely be utilizing mine from now on!

One lucky winner will receive a Squatchi of their very own. You can enter to win this invaluable tool via the Rafflecopter below!

Copy Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables DVD Review & Giveaway

All mothers want what is best for their kids and one of the most important things we can do for them is introduce them to healthy eating habits. Doing so has just become easier with a new dvd- Copy Kids- Eat Fruits and Vegetables.

The idea for this project came about when Cai Dixon noticed her young daughter was more willing to try fruits and vegetables when she saw other children eating them. Kids love mimicking other kids, I know this firsthand from years of experience in the child care field, but I must admit, I was a bit skeptical that watching other kids eat veggies would encourage my kids to do so themselves. They are all huge fruit fans, so we focused on watching the vegetable portions of the dvd.

bowl of carrots!
I wanted to start off with something familiar, so the first time we watched Copy Kids, we got some carrots to eat. All 3 of the kids ate all of the carrots I provided them with. They usually just eat a few and leave the rest. I knew then that this was probably going to work. I let them watch some other sections of the dvd without a food to eat because they were interested and I was not going to say no to them watching other kids practicing good habits. My 4 year old, Maddie, has asked to watch this movie every day since the first time we watched it. We watched it and ate bell peppers (one of my two year old twins devoured half a red bell pepper and then half of a yellow before I cut him off!), then another time with cucumbers and we plan to watch it while eating avacado and broccoli soon. Maddie is really excited about this movie! It is really fun to watch because it is unscripted and kids being themselves always makes for the best entertainment. It really is a cute movie.

The dvd is divided in chapters making it easy to watch just one segment focusing on one food or choosing to watch several. The vegetables and fruits included on this dvd are bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, avocado, tomatoes, broccoli, oranges, bananas, raspberries, strawberries and apples.

I know that getting kids to eat vegetables and even fruit in some cases can be a chore. I usually don't advocate eating in front of the tv, but I think this is a wonderful way to introduce your kids to new, healthy, natural foods. It's fun for them, it's healthy for them and it makes things easier on you!
